You have a lot together -
and yet something keeps pulling

You function well on the surface

You show up for your life, your relationships, your work. But beneath the surface there are emotional patterns that have been quietly running the show.

Anxiety or relational distress keeps showing up

In how you connect with others, how you feel in your own skin, or in the same relational dynamics that seem to follow you from one chapter to the next.

You want more than symptom management

You're not looking for coping strategies alone. You want to understand what's really happening and build a more secure, coherent relationship with yourself.

You're ready for holistic, meaningful work

You value an integrative approach that honors your whole self, mind, body, and the relational experiences that have shaped you.

Jessica works with adults 18+ who are self-aware and growth-oriented. People who sense that the patterns showing up in their anxiety, their relationships, or their emotional lives point to something deeper worth exploring. This is holistic, heartfelt work. And it creates real change.

Depth, warmth, and years in the room

"Jessica chose social work to center her life work around advocating for people and changing systems. She became a therapist to honor the heartfelt journey of change."

Before founding Hands to Heart Center, Jessica spent years working across acute medical centers, outpatient hospice settings, and a Level 1 trauma center. Jessica has worked alongside patients navigating some of life's most profound challenges, grief, loss, medical trauma, and crisis. Jessica has also trained extensively in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and worked with trauma across the lifespan.

These diverse clinical experiences shaped more than clinical skills. They shaped presence, the capacity to sit with complexity without rushing toward resolution, and a genuine attunement to the person across the room. That depth of experience now lives at the heart of Jessica's private practice.

Jessica chose EFIT, Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy, because it mirrors what she has always believed: that lasting change comes from the heart of the attachment relationship with ourselves, not from around it.

Emotionally Focused
Individual Therapy

EFIT is not simply a technique. It is a way of going to the heart of attachment, helping you build a more coherent, resilient, and secure relationship with yourself.

Returning to Coherence

At its core, EFIT helps you make sense of your own emotional experience. When anxiety, depression, or relational distress feels fragmented or confusing, we work together to bring your inner world into greater coherence, clarity, integration, and a steadier sense of self.

Identifying Emotional Patterns

Many of the patterns that restrict our lives were formed long before we had words for them. EFIT helps you identify the emotional patterns driving your anxiety, your relational dynamics, and your sense of self, and begin to shift them at the root.

The Relationship With Yourself

Attachment theory teaches us that the relationship we have with ourselves shapes everything else. EFIT works directly on this, helping you develop a more secure, compassionate, and honest relationship with your own emotional experience.

Building Lasting Resilience

This work is not about managing symptoms. It is about building the kind of internal security that allows you to move through life with greater ease, connection, and emotional freedom, resilience that belongs to you, not to a technique.

"The therapeutic relationship we build together in this work, the safety, the attunement, the honesty, is not just part of the healing. It is a living model of the secure connection you are learning to have with yourself."

- Jessica Baker, LCSW

Where this work shows up

Anxiety, depression, trauma, and relational distress are often how deeper emotional patterns make themselves known. EFIT works beneath the surface, addressing what is driving them, not just how they appear.

Anxiety

Anxiety is rarely just worry. It is often a signal from a nervous system shaped by attachment experiences and emotional patterns learned long ago. We work to understand what it is communicating, and help your system find a new way to be.

Depression

Depression often lives in the disconnection between who we are and who we have learned to be. EFIT helps restore a more coherent, compassionate, and alive relationship with yourself, one that is sustainable, not performed.

Trauma

Drawing on years of clinical experience in trauma settings and training in CBT and somatic approaches, Jessica brings a careful, attuned presence to trauma work, supporting integration at your pace, without rushing toward resolution.

Relational & Interpersonal Patterns

How we learned to attach shapes how we show up in every relationship. Whether it is difficulty trusting, chronic people-pleasing, or recurring relational distress, this work helps you identify and transform those patterns at their source.

Emotional Regulation

When emotions feel difficult to access, overwhelming, or hard to make sense of, EFIT provides a structured and compassionate path toward greater emotional coherence, and a more secure, regulated internal world.

Holistic & Integrative Care

Jessica integrates EFIT with somatic awareness and CBT-informed approaches, honoring the whole person, body, mind, and relational history. Care that treats you as a full human being, not a set of symptoms.

Questions you might be wondering

What makes working with Jessica different?
Jessica brings 13 years of clinical experience across acute medical centers, a Level 1 trauma center, and outpatient hospice care, environments that required extraordinary emotional range and clinical precision. That depth of experience shapes the kind of presence she brings to every session: grounded, attuned, and genuinely able to hold complexity. Jessica holds advanced EFIT certification, extensive CBT training, and works from a holistic, integrative lens that honors the whole person, body, emotional history, and relational world. Many clients describe working with Jessica as the first time they felt truly met at a level that moved something real.
What is EFIT, and how does it work?
Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) is an attachment-based, research-supported approach that goes to the heart of how emotional patterns are formed and maintained. It focuses on the relationship you have with yourself, how anxiety, depression, trauma, and relational distress are often expressions of deeper emotional patterns rooted in attachment. The work involves identifying those patterns, bringing greater coherence to your emotional experience, and building a more secure and resilient relationship with yourself. The change that comes from EFIT is not surface-level. It is structural, and it lasts.
Is this the right fit for me?
Jessica works best with adults (18+) who are self-aware, motivated, and ready to engage in meaningful, depth-oriented work. Clients are often high-functioning people who manage their lives well on the surface but sense that emotional or relational patterns are quietly restricting them. If you are looking for holistic care that goes beyond symptom management, work that honors your whole self and builds lasting internal change, this may be a strong fit. The free consultation is the best place to explore that together.
Is sliding scale available?
Yes. Jessica reserves a limited number of reduced-fee spots for clients with genuine financial need. If the standard fee is a barrier, please raise it during your free consultation. She would rather find a way to work with you than have cost stand in the way of care.
Why private pay instead of insurance?
Private pay gives Jessica the freedom to provide care that is right for you, not what a policy approves. Insurance-based therapy often limits session frequency, approach, and duration, and requires a formal diagnosis that becomes part of your permanent record. As a private pay provider, every decision is guided by your wellbeing. Superbills are available upon request for potential out-of-network reimbursement through your insurer.
How do online sessions work, and is it truly private?
Sessions are held via HIPAA-compliant, fully encrypted video, completely private and confidential. You will receive a secure link before each session. All you need is a quiet, private space and a reliable internet connection. Evening and weekend availability means the work fits into your life, not the other way around.
What happens during the free consultation?
The free 15-minute consultation is a relaxed call to hear a little about what brings you here, answer any questions you have, and get a genuine sense of whether working together feels like the right fit. There is no pressure, no obligation, and no expectation to decide on the spot.
